There’s no slow intro this time, it’s straight into the action and the choices you make from the offset will determine the outcome of your journey. So imagine if your older brother was a tyrannical King and it was down to you to overthrow him to bring peace to the land (extreme case in point)! That’s the situation that Fable III’s main protagonist finds himself in at the beginning of the game. In extreme cases it can tear a family apart. The biggest shame is that Lionhead made this fascinating and attractive world and then removed your ability to affect it in any real way.Anyone with a brother or sister knows that sibling rivalry is real. As entertaining as the characters and quests may be, they’re weighed down by the increasingly simple gameplay. Gritty but immature, dark yet not steeped in the occult, it stood out amongst the science fiction and horror-fantasy that dominated the marketplace.įable III isn’t a terrible game, it’s just a disappointment, and suffers from a bad case of over-simplification.
